pulmonary venous hypertension :: Article Creator Insmed Stock Soars On Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension Drug Trial Results Shares of Insmed (INSM) jumped nearly 30% Tuesday after the biopharmaceutical company reported positive results from a Phase 2 trial for its treatment of pulmonary arterial hypertension. The Bridgewater, N.J.-based company said the study was "evaluating the efficacy and safety of treprostinil palmitil inhalation powder" in patients with pulmonary arterial hypertension, or PAH, and that the trial "met its primary endpoint and all secondary efficacy endpoints." Pulmonary hypertension, which develops when the blood pressure in your lungs is higher than normal, affects about 1% of people globally, per the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute. Aligned Orthopedic Partners adds 14-physician group in Virginia - Becker's Orthopedic & Spine

Aligned Orthopedic Partners inked its third partnership of 2022 with Virginia Beach, Va.-based Jordan-Young Institute, the management services organization said Aug. 18.

The Jordan-Young Institute was founded in 1985 and performs thousands of procedures yearly, according to an Aligned Orthopedic news release. Its partnership brings Aligned Orthopedic to 50 orthopedic surgeons and more than 125 physicians overall.

"The skill, proficiency, and expertise provided by Jordan-Young's team of 14 doctors have earned them reputations as pioneers in groundbreaking innovative solutions that continue to advance the standard of patient care," Emil Engels, MD, CEO of Aligned Orthopedic said in the news release. "Their surgeons and physiatrists, combined with a dedicated team of caring professionals, have the traits we look for in determining whether a cultural fit exists for a partnership."

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — An outbreak of the highly pathogenic avian influenza virus in poultry in 2014-15 resulted in the destruction of more than 50 million chickens and turkeys in the U.S., causing billions of dollars in economic loss. This animal disease outbreak — the worst in U.S. history — is one example of how devastating a foreign animal disease can be to animal agriculture and the country's economy. The resurgence of avian influenza in multiple states, including Pennsylvania, is once again bringing the importance of preventing animal diseases to the forefront, noted Suresh Kuchipudi, clinical professor of microbiology in Penn State's College of Agricultural Sciences.
