How This Gay Couple Put On a Black, Plague-Appropriate Wedding - Out Magazine How This Gay Couple Put On a Black, Plague-Appropriate Wedding - Out Magazine Posted: 29 Nov 2020 05:47 PM PST Til death do us part! Congratulations to Mr. and Mr. Alex Illest and Setenio Borges, who got married on a rural farm in Dundas, Ontario on October 10, 2020. Taking place on a scenic mountain peak, their ceremony was an all black affair with a "Til Death" theme, incorporating handmade leather plague masks, serving "as a nod to the time." ⠀ The two first met in August 2019 on a dating app and exchanged numbers shortly thereafter. After a bit of texting they decided to meet up at a friend's birthday celebration where sparks — and the first "I love you's" — flew. Borges proposed in March 2020 on a trip to Quebec City (they were supposed to go to Japan but the looming pandemic cancelled those plans. They stayed at Hôtel

Pneumonic Plague Is Diagnosed in China - The New York Times Pneumonic Plague Is Diagnosed in China - The New York Times Posted: 13 Nov 2019 12:00 AM PST BEIJING — Two people in China were diagnosed with plague, setting off a panic on Tuesday about the potential spread of the highly infectious and fatal disease and prompting China's government to warn citizens to take precautions to protect themselves. Beijing officials said the two infected people came from Inner Mongolia, a sparsely populated region of northern China. They sought treatment on Tuesday in a hospital in Beijing's Chaoyang District, where they were diagnosed with pneumonic plague, according to the government office of the district. The Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention said on Weibo, the microblogging site, that there was no need for Beijing residents to panic and that the risks of further transmission are "extremely low." The authorities

Op-Ed: Want to avoid pandemics? Eliminate factory farming - Los Angeles Times Op-Ed: Want to avoid pandemics? Eliminate factory farming - Los Angeles Times Posted: 30 Nov 2020 03:00 AM PST You could call it "the silence of the minks." In Denmark, all the farmed minks in the country — some 17 million of them — have been destroyed after mutant coronavirus strains were detected in animals on many farms. The disease was able to spread and mutate quickly through the cramped cages housing the mink, and sometimes the animals passed the new strains to the humans who tended them. One mink-adapted strain, called Cluster 5, thought to be less responsive to antibodies and thus a possible threat to vaccine-derived immunity and human health, infected at least 12 people. A cull was ordered, and the slaughter began. Farms in Greece, the Netherlands, Ireland and other countries have also liquidated their minks. Thousands of workers have lost thei

Ndemic Is Looking for Beta Testers to Play Plague Inc: The Cure - DroidGamers Ndemic Is Looking for Beta Testers to Play Plague Inc: The Cure - DroidGamers Posted: 21 Oct 2020 12:00 AM PDT Way back in the early days of the coronavirus pandemic, developer Ndemic announced its intention to create a new mode for Plague Inc that would see players curing rather than spreading a deadly disease. Talk about jumping on the bandwagon. Things went strangely quiet at Ndemic HQ after that, presumably because it was busy working on the promised mod. Touted as Plague Inc's most significant update, The Cure is apparently just around the corner, and Ndemic wants you to help get it over the line. Click on the Googledocs link in the tweet above and you'll be taken to a form asking for your preferred Plague Inc difficulty, your favorite disease type, whether you've played Rebel Inc, and so on. It also asks whether you'll be able to p

Star Wars Art Imagines Tom Hiddleston As Young Palpatine - Screen Rant Star Wars Art Imagines Tom Hiddleston As Young Palpatine - Screen Rant Posted: 29 Nov 2020 05:09 PM PST A new piece of fan art makes a great case for Tom Hiddleston playing young Emperor Sheev Palpatine (originally played by Ian McDiarmid) in a Star Wars prequel project. As Lucasfilm continues to hold off tackling what lies ahead in the galaxy following Skywalker Saga, they're looking at the past for new content. That's why their Disney+ series are mainly period pieces like The Mandalorian . Palpatine was a key figure in all three Star Wars trilogies, with the prequels tackling how he became the Emperor in the original movies. Despite his presumed death in Return of the Jedi , Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker surprisingly brought him back; fans were initially thrilled to learn how he fit in the new narrative, but his return ultimately proved to be disappointing.

Though extraordinary may not be enough to describe this game. Through eight combined turnovers, big plays, defensive scores and even a power outage, Georgia Tech emerged from the chaos victorious Saturday night at Bobby Dodd Stadium, defeating Duke 56-33 and ending its three game losing streak in the series. The Blue Devils finally returned to action after a bye week and the cancelled game with Wake Forest gave them two weeks off. Freshman quarterback Jeff Sims sparked the Georgia Tech offense with 254 total yards and three passing touchdowns
